CENTENNIAL PARK SUBURB SPOTLIGHT

Centennial Park is a small residential suburb located on the western fringe of the parkland and is situated only 4 kilometres south-east of the Sydney Central Business district. The suburb is popular for its close proximity to public transportation and famous shopping destination Oxford Street. The park itself covers 220 hectares of land, and is the largest park in the southern hemisphere.

Featuring many historic and quality houses on large blocks particularly those on mainly Cook Road, Martin Road, Lang Road and Roberston Road. Centennial Park is centrally located and a short stroll to the busy Oxford Streets cafes, boutiques and restaurants.

Centennial Park the suburb was developed as a result of a decision to sell off land adjacent to the park to raise money for park redevelopment. To ensure high standards of residential development, certain requirements were imposed. No wooden buildings or terrace homes were allowed; brick or stone were mandated, with tile or slate roofs.
