BONDI JUNCTION SUBURB SPOTLIGHT
It is a largely commercial area that has undergone many changes since its inception in the late 20th Century and is Sydney’s fifth largest business district.
With what started with one small department store in 1939, Bondi Junction is now a lively shopping and transport hub. The ever popular Westfield was opened in the early 2000’s and contains more than 400 speciality stores and services. Along with the Westfield complex, Bondi Junction also has the Oxford Street mall and the Eastgate shopping centre precincts.
To keep up with the crowds of keen shoppers, Bondi Junction has one of Sydney’s more established transport systems. With the largest suburban bus terminal in Australia and a train station that links to Sydney’s most southern suburbs and the City, access to the Junction is straight forward and convenient for most.
